Center Stage Youth Productions (CSYP) is a non-profit youth musical theater organization serving children ages 5-18 along the Wasatch Front. This year, more than 4,500 young people will experience musical theater through our programs, as audience members, workshop participants, and performers in live productions.
We are based in Utah County and open to every child, regardless of background, experience level, or financial situation.
Our Mission
CSYP is a non-profit organization that provides an educational forum for children to learn musical theater skills. The organization’s goal is to help youth develop their talents, self-esteem and imagination in a fun, safe and stimulating environment through rehearsals, performances and classes.
What We Believe
Musical theater is the vehicle. Confidence, work ethic, teamwork, and accountability are the destination.
We set high expectations for every student, not because every one of them will perform on Broadway, but because every one of them will benefit from learning to work hard, show up, and present themselves well. Those are skills that follow a child for life.
Who We Serve
CSYP was founded to give children from all racial, economic, and social backgrounds a place to discover and develop their talents. Some kids arrive already knowing they love to perform. Others are just looking for something creative to do after school. Some have the drive but lack the financial means to pursue it. We built this program for all of them.
Every child who has an interest in any element of musical theater is welcome here.
A Note from Our Producers
People often ask what sets CSYP apart from other youth theater programs on the Wasatch Front. It is a fair question. Utah has no shortage of talented kids and strong arts programs, and we celebrate every one of them.
What makes us different is our focus on the skills underneath the performance. Yes, we teach acting, dance, and vocals. But what we are really teaching is how to be a reliable teammate, how to work hard toward a goal, and how to believe in your own value. Every child who walks through our doors has a unique set of talents. Our job is to help them find it.
Some students stay for one semester. Others start with us at age 5 and perform with us until they turn 18. Some arrive with years of experience. Others arrive with nothing but curiosity. All of them belong here.
